We have returned to the 27th SCAA Seattle Coffee Expo (USA). For three hectic days we will showcase our collection of reusable glass cups and release our newest, supreme, glass. We will share our story and the importance of ditching paper and going for glass.
So what’s the big deal about disposable paper cups? It is estimated that America uses 58 billion disposable cups annually. (1) Most disposable cups cannot be recycled. They are dumped in your local landfill and release greenhouse gas emissions as they very slowly decompose. (2) In one year, the average American office worker uses around 500 disposable cups creating 23 lbs of avoidable waste (3) This personal waste is likely to be gathered in full-size plastic garbage bags and then collectively dumped into enough landfill space to fill Michigan Stadium (the largest football stadium in the world) around 50 times every year! Why should you choose a JOCO cup? JOCO cups have been tested and certified to be free of harmful chemicals including all types of Lead, BPA, and Cadmium. JOCO cups are made from high quality borosilicate glass, making them lightweight and resistant to extreme hot and cold temperatures. JOCO cups do not crack or shatter when boiling water is filled in. Lesser forms of glass, including tempered and ordinary glass, have been known to unpredictably explode and send shards flying when subjected to extreme changes in temperature. Borosilicate glass removes the high risk of this happening to your reusable cup. Their superior durability also makes them microwave and dishwasher safe. Borosilicate is non-porous so it won’t taint the flavour of your tea or coffee. Each JOCO cup is wrapped in a silicone sleeve, sealed with an ergonomic splash proof lid and packaged in a 100% recyclable paper canister. So where can you find us this weekend?
